Don't Ban Rescue Dogs!

Working Group

Injury shouldn't deny a rescue dog a loving home

Open 1_edited.jpg

About

A docked tail or lost limb should not mean
a lost chance of a loving home.

We support strong action against cosmetic mutilation.

We are asking for a tightly controlled exemption that allows genuine adult rescue dogs, with non cosmetic injuries or mutilations, to continue being rehomed in Great Britain.

We are not seeking an exemption for dogs under six months of age or dogs that have been harmed for cosmetic reasons.

Our Approach

Making a Difference

Support action against cosmetic mutilation

Explain the animal welfare bill why and what is happening

Seek practical exemptions for genuine adult rescue dogs

The legislation needs to be framed carefully so genuine rescues without tails or limbs missing can still be imported

Develop practical safeguards and methods to prevent abuse

Explain loopholes and what proposals you're doing to close them
